Dick Brunton has been a great client to us since first contact in 1992. This project is the second office design we have done for CBR Auckland. this one involving shell completion negotiation with the landlord, design and documentation plus full project management. The new premises fits into a fairly odd shaped floorplate with no clear circulation routes. We created two major wayfinding elements in the design - a "lighthouse" and a "bridge". Both of these features are obvious in the photos here. they act as clear locators for staff and visitors.
the lighthouse - we wrapped the single central lift with an internally illuminated plexiglas frame. it glows as a location beacon.
the bridge is an arch of backlit timber slats. it leads from reception to the staff zone/focus group rooms.
